More of Korea

So day 3 of Korea...it was alright, kinda like yesterday, really. It doesn't seem there's a whole lot of different things to do here besides shopping, eating, and visitng palaces. But first stop today was Jongmyo Shrine. It was actually kinda interesting learning about how and what they use the shrine for. Like there is a room for each deceased kings' tablet for their spirits, and twice a year they hold a ceremony to commemorate them. Lucky for me, they are having it this Sunday, so I will go to that!

After the shrine, I walked to Gyeongbokgung, but stopped on the way for lunch at this little place for pork katsu. It was pretty busy so I figured it must be good and it was alright. I think I am done with fried foods for a while though. After lunch, I joined the English tour at Gyeongbokgung. I think that one was the least interesting out of the 3 I went to, but the palace was grand and beautiful. Once done there, I walked out to Gwanghwamun and took some pictures with the guards standing outside, took a picture of the statue on the square, tried on a king's costume for free, and went to Namdaemun. I was just so tired for some reason...Only walked around for a little bit before going to rest at a cafe with a yogurt smoothie and cake. Afterwards, I walked around some more and got a supposedly famous gogi wang mandu, which is really like a chinese meat bun, but with noodles too. And then I got a slice of pineapple and honeydew melon for dinner as well. All I was craving was fruit, probably cuz I haven't eaten hardly any this past week!

I was pretty tired after that so I headed back home. I decided to wander up to the Sungkungkwan University area before just to check it out and for a little stroll. It was actually quite nice, cuz it was lined with trees and then there were some old Korean style buildings on one side. But after getting back, I pretty much just zonked out for like 2 hours before finally getting up to shower and get ready for bed. It's almost 1am now, so better go back to sleep!
